Are you curious about yoga but don’t know how to begin? Have you been to a few classes, but are confused about what’s going on? If so, then this beginner’s yoga series is perfect for you. This 6-week series will give you a chance to explore, ask questions, and learn about yoga in a friendly atmosphere. This class is for people of all fitness levels. You will practice the poses and breathing techniques that form the basis of a typical yoga class, learn about the benefits of yoga and about how to be safe in your practice. At the conclusion of this series, you will have the tools and confidence to step onto your mat in any class.

Are you concerned about low bone density and/or forward-curved posture of the spine? Yoga offers both special risks and special benefits. We will learn a few facts about bone density relevant to yoga and then practice which yoga poses and movements to avoid, modify, or substitute and which poses to embrace to avoid injury and promote healthy bones and healthy posture. Then we’ll translate these insights from yoga into better ways to protect your bones and your spine in everyday activities.
