At Blue Point Yoga, our signature 200hr Teacher Training is a carefully crafted and comprehensive program taught and designed by studio owner Sara Doyle, PhD. Registered with Yoga Alliance at the highest level (E-RYT 500), Sara has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and is also an anatomy instructor at Duke University Medical School.

Our unique training will take you deep into the science, anatomy, alignment, and “smart movement” principles that are critical to understanding yoga at an advanced level. Each training is led by Dr. Doyle and includes guest experts in yogic philosophy and other specialty areas of study.

 

At Blue Point Yoga, we recognize that learning and teaching yoga is not just about poses. Yoga is often a journey of self-discovery, change, and personal growth. We’ve built our signature 200hr Teacher Training with that in mind. You will emerge prepared – knowing both the movement and science behind what you’re doing – and feeling empowered – even more passionate about yoga’s role in your life. You will learn how to teach, not just what to teach.

200hr Teacher Training Details
In this Blue Point Yoga training, you will learn:

  • Tools for developing authenticity as a yoga teacher - voice, intention and attention
  • Intelligent crafting of a class - pacing, intensity, focus, thematics and presentation
  • The interaction between the subtle energetic body and the musculoskeletal system
  • The anatomy of movement taught by anatomist Sara Doyle, PhD
  • How to creatively teach beginner students
  • The history of ancient and modern yoga
  • The yoga sutras and how they apply to modern life
  • The art of asana sequencing
  • Breathing and meditation techniques
  • Skillful verbal cuing and hands-on adjustments
  • How to bring mindfulness practices into your life - on and off your mat

This training course is registered with Yoga Alliance at the 200hr level. Upon successful completion of all modules, readings and homework, you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance, the nationally recognized governing body of yoga standards and trainings. This course is recommended for students of any level who have been practicing yoga for at least one year.

 

200hr Teacher Training Course Requirements

In order to earn your certificate of completion for the course:

Attendance is required at every session over the 3 week period or 9 weekend period.
You must complete of all reading and homework assignments.

 

Tuition:

$2850 paid in full 

 

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations made up to two weeks before the start of the training will be refunded less $150 processing fee.
Cancellations made within two weeks of the start of the program will be refunded 50%.
Cancellations made once the program begins will not be refunded.
