Staci Bilbo
After dancing for many years, Staci was drawn to yoga in 2000 for its combination of physical, mental, and spiritual attributes. She steadily deepened her practice while living for several years in Boulder, CO. In 2007, Staci moved to Durham and joyfully discovered Blue Point, adopting it as her second home. She completed her 200-hour OM Yoga Teacher Training certification in 2009.
Staci received a PhD in Psychological and Brain Sciences from Johns Hopkins University in 2003 and is currently an assistant professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University, where she does research on the interactions among the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems, and how factors such as stress can influence health and cognition. With its body-mind integrative approach, yoga is a natural complement to both her personal life and her professional career, and she strives to transfer strength and insight from one to the other whenever possible.
Staci looks forward to the continued sharing of her practice with students, colleagues, and friends at Blue Point. More than anything, she is grateful for the joy, clarity, and energy yoga has brought to her life, and strives to share this with others.
