Andrea was first introduced to yoga by David Beadle while pursuing her bachelors degree in dance at Meredith College. She has primarily taught yoga as a complementary method of training dancers to create balance both physically and emotionally. She eventually found that her students needed yoga more than they needed dance. Yoga allowed them to be authentic and present versus performance-based and externally motivated.

After graduating, she worked at the American Dance Festival at Duke University and continued to teach dance locally in Wake County. She was invited to create and develop the 6 - 12 grade dance program at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in the mountains of north Georgia before moving to Miami to run her own business, Miami DanceArts.

In 2004, Andrea relocated to Savannah after the accepting the position of dance department chair at Savannah Arts Academy, a public arts magnet high school. Andreaƕs students have been accepted into university dance programs at SUNY- Purchase, Ailey/Fordham, Tisch, New World School of the Arts, Florida State University, UNCG, Belhaven College, Univ. of Georgia and the Univ. of Alabama. Andrea graduated summa cum laude with a M.Ed.in Educational Leadership and is certified as a public school principal.

She is a 200-hour register yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. She lives in Carrboro with her partner Trey, their son Mateo, and their two dogs Normandy and Jackson.
