Karla Johnston-Krase

Karla Johnston-Krase (M.Div, RYT-200) is passionate about helping people find balance in the day to day living. Her practical and compassionate applications of yoga and Ayurveda offer an invitation to see health in body, mind, and soul as an ever-evolving journey. Karla first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2003 to address lifelong back pain. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Poonam Gupta in 2011. Since then, she co-founded YogaRootsRacine in Wisconsin and created DiscoverYourCenter, LLC, where she supports and coaches adoptive and foster mothers. She is certified in Aerial Yoga, Core Functional Fitness™, has completed studies Living Ayurveda and Yoga Health Coaching studies with Cate Stillman, and is an Access Consciousness® Bars Practitioner. A mom of three, Karla knows the power of a beautiful Yin or Restorative Yoga practice and takes delight inviting others to experience how we can balance our active yang lifestyles with a grounding yin yoga practice.

AnnMarie Mello Morris

AnnMarie has over 20 years of yoga teaching experience, holds a license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) and has a BS in Health Studies. She is registered under Yoga Alliance with E-RYT 200 from Seaside Yoga in Wilmington, NC. She also studied an additional 200 hours of alignment-based yoga through Anusara. Currently, she is completing her 500 RYT level yoga training at Asheville Yoga Center and is expected to complete the program in 2017. Her yoga path has connected her diverse interests in physical rehabilitation and health prevention to the use of yoga as a modality for healing. She continually strives to learn more about the therapeutic value of yoga through her studies & her own personal practice. AnnMarie recently relocated to the area with her family (and 3 dogs) from Fort Bragg, NC and she is thrilled to be able to continue sharing her passion of yoga with each individual and class. 

Jacqueline Johnson

Jacque (EdD, RYT-500) has been practicing yoga since 1976, and after much coaxing began teaching in 1992. She teaches several styles of yoga, primarily Sivananda and more recently Viniyoga. She also teaches vinyasa flow, restorative, Vipassana meditation, guided imagery meditation, and yoga therapy. She has been an academic in health behavior, health psychology, and health promotion for 15 years. As an academic, Jacque has collaborated on research investigating the changes in brain activity during specific elements of yoga. She was also one of the developers of a 200hr yoga teacher training of a university curriculum as a minor. She has recently moved to NC from DC, and is excited to inspire others on their journey towards a fulfilling life.
Yin Yoga emphasizes the connective tissues through a relaxed practice of long, passive holds in specific postures. These asanas gently stretch and rehabilitate the connective tissues that form our joints, allowing us to maintain and restore joint flexibility.
